A JOURNEY THROUGH ART AND SILENCE
For over 30 years, I have immersed myself in the creative process, finding a voice for thoughts and emotions that transcend words. My art is deeply rooted in the landscapes around us, reflecting humanity’s impact on the environment, particularly through industry and quarrying. In recent years, my work has shifted from a representational style to a more abstract, critical exploration of form and meaning.
Loss of hearing has shaped my perspective and my craft over time. My lived experience has deepened my connection to quietitude, allowing me to channel the complexity of thought and emotion into every brushstroke and sculpted piece. Through art, I bridge the gap between silence and sound, conveying what it feels like to adapt to and navigate a hearing world.
APPRECIATED BY ART ENTHUSIASTS
The heartfelt responses from those who own my work are a testament to the emotional investment I make in each of them. Here are some reflections from collectors who have found meaning and inspiration in my art.
I have bought several paintings from Diana Terry, so clearly, I like her work, from a watercolour of the Greek island of Symi to oil paintings of abundant nature and dramatic storms. Unfortunately, I don't live close enough to view her work in the flesh, as it were. I have, therefore, purchased the works after viewing them online. So far, I have never been disappointed either by the work itself or the care with which it has been packaged for delivery. I have four paintings in my hallway, which give me pleasure every time I pass them when I enter or leave. Thank you, Diana Terry.
I have several of Diana's paintings and love them all equally. Her art is very varied, and she works with a variety of mediums. Her studio is an exciting place to visit, something to suit all tastes.
I have two paintings and a print of Diana’s now. They are incredibly beautiful and have such interesting textures. Visiting the studio to see the work is always fascinating and highly recommended!

SEEING SOUNDS - A SERIES OF INK DRAWINGS
These are some of my early ink drawings, created while I removed my aids to listen to the sounds in my head. The drawings are a visual representation of what tinnitus feels like. These are now in the Wellcome Collection in London, a museum that ‘aims to challenge how we all think and feel about health.”
Limited edition museum-quality prints of these works are also available in A4 size.
EXPLORING THE TACTILE
My ceramics are a dialogue between humanity and the natural world. I immerse myself in the landscape, tracing the textures and shapes of rock formations exposed by quarrying. Through clay, I explore the contrast between the smooth precision of industry and the raw, organic forms of nature’s recovery.
Touch is central to my creative process. Shaping and moulding clay allows me to connect deeply with the environment, translating its story into sculptural pieces that embody resilience and transformation.
